“Filigrana de Portugal” is now certified

The Municipalities of Gondomar and Póvoa de Lanhoso, the two main centers of excellence for Portuguese Filigree production, will present, on the upcoming 12th at 5 pm, at the Pousada do Porto, Hotel Palácio do Freixo, the certification of the product “Filigrana de Portugal”.
The “Filigrana de Portugal” – a product that aims to preserve the core characteristics of an autonomous artisanal production within Portuguese goldsmithing – will necessarily be hallmarked. In addition, each goldsmith must have a punch with the certification mark to stamp on the piece and that, together with a label, identifies it as “Filigrana de Portugal”, a certified traditional artisanal technique.
The specification book for the certification of “Filigrana de Portugal” was established by Adere-Minho – Association for the Regional Development of Minho, the only certification body in Portugal for traditional (non-food) artisanal productions.
