Mr. António Martins de Castro began his apprenticeship in the art of filigree in 1942, at the age of 14.

In 1946, at the age of 18, he decided to start his apprenticeship in the art of jewelry making.

In 1952, he established himself for the first time with two of his brothers. Years later, in the 1980s, the brothers decided to separate from the business they had together.

In 1989, António Martins de Castro and his sons founded the company ANTONIO MARTINS CASTRO & FILHOS LDA. Specialized in the handcrafted production of Portuguese filigree.
